Minister Visits Kish Island Port, Kish Airport Expansion

Minister of Transport HE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti paid a visit to the Port of Kish Island and the Kish Airport expansion project. He was accompanied by Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran HE Rostam Ghasemi.Professionals from the two projects briefed Minister Al-Sulaiti on aspects and components of the tourist Port of Kish Island, its operational processes and cruise ships traffic in it. They also briefed him on Kish Airport services and expansion phases.Qatar’s Ambassador to Iran HE Mr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Hajri, Director of Asian Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Yousef Sultan Larem, and several senior transportation officials from both countries participated in the visit.

Minister Meets with Iran’s Roads, Urban Development Minister

Iran- Minister of Transport HE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met with Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran HE Rostam Ghasemi. Held today in Kish Island in Iran, the meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fields of transportation, marine navigation, commercial harbors, air transportation and civil aviation, and ways of further enhancing them. The two ministers also discussed opportunities for cooperating on the Kish Port. Qatar’s Ambassador to Iran HE Mr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Hajri, Director of Asian Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Yousef Sultan Larem, and several senior officials from both countries attended the meeting.

Qatar Airways Wins Padel Championship Cup

Doha – Qatar Minister of Transport HE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti on Saturday crowned Qatar Airways team as champions of the Minister of Transport Ramadan Padel Championship Cup after their superb performance against the Civil Aviation Authority team. The QA team won 3-0 in the final faceoff held in Padel In Aspire Zone amid large fan attendance. QA team controlled most of the three rounds of the match and easily scored 3 times, while all CAA’s attempts failed. The event was attended by Minister of Municipality HE Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Subaie, who is the Managing Director and CEO of Qatar Rail, Director General of the Qatar Aeronautical Academy HE Sheikh Jabor Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Mwani Qatar’s CEO Capt. Abdulla Mohamed Al-Khanji, Mr. Mohamed Faleh Alhajri, who is in charge of managing the CAA, Mowasalat (Kawa) CEO Mr. Fahad Saad Al Qahtani, CEO of Al Meera Group Mr. Yousef Ali Al Obaidan and Hamad Port Project Executive Director Eng. Nabil Mohammed AlKhaldi. Several other officials from the MOT and transportation industry also attended the match. The championship featured 64 padel players in 8 teams representing the entities that work in the transportation industry. The Ministry pays great attention to organizing such sporting championships out of the belief in the importance of sport in reinforcing bonds and relationships among employees.

MOT Ramadan Padel Cup Opens with 4 Hot Matches

Doha – Qatar The Minister of Transport Ramadan Padel Championship Cup opens tomorrow, April 4, and ends April 09 at Padel In – Aspire Zone. The championship is organized by the Minsitry of Transport in cooperation with Qatar Rail with participation of 64 players representing 8 teams from the entities working in the transportation sector. Teams come in two groups: Group A incudes Qatar Airways, Milaha, Ministry of Transport and Mwani Qatar, while Group B includes CAA, Qatar Rail, Mowasalat “Karwa” and QTerminals. There will be two faceoffs from Group A tomorrow; Qatar Airways vs. MOT at 08:30, Milaha vs. Mwani Qatar at 08:30 and two faceoffs from Group B; CAA vs. Mowasalat “Karwa” and Qatar Rail vs. QTerminals at 08:30.
