Minister Meets with President of Cuba’s IACC

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met today with the President of Cuba’s Institute of Aeronautics and Civil Aviation (IACC) H.E. Mr. Armando Daniel López.During the meeting, bilateral cooperation relations in the fields of air transportation and civil aviation and means to further develop them were reviewed.Mr. Mohammed Faleh Alhajri, in charge of managing Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and the delegation accompanying the IACC President attended the meeting.

Minister Meets with Indian Railways Minister

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met with the Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology of The Republic of India H.E. Ashwini Vaishnaw.Held in the ministry’s headquarters today, the two ministers reviewed Qatar-India cooperation ties in the areas of Railways and their infrastructure and discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in various aspects of environmentally friendly railway transport.

Minister Receives Message from Kyrgyz Minister of Transport & Communication

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti received a written message from Minister of Transport and Communication of the Kyrgyz Republic on enhancing bilateral relations in the the fields of transportation. The message was delivered by H.E. Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Marat Nuraliev as he met with H.E. Minister Al-Sulaiti today.

Minister Attends QCAA-COCESNA MoU on Enhancing Civil Aviation Cooperation

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti today attended the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) and the Central American Corporation for Air Navigation Services (COCESNA), on enhancing cooperation in civil aviation.  The MoU is aligned with the Third Qatar National Development Strategy. One of its top goals is strengthening Qatar’s global position in terms of air transportation and providing incentives to digitalize and automatize all means of transportation by taking advantage of Qatar’s advanced infrastructures, in addition to preparing a fresh generation of professionals in the industry. The MoU stipulates the establishment of a framework between the two parties to develop cooperation in the fields of air safety, air traffic management, civil aviation security and facilitation, meteorological services, and legal affairs. This will be achieved through the exchange of trained and qualified competencies, along with information on civil aviation matters, let alone holding bilateral seminars, conferences, workshops, and training courses. Mr. Mohammed Faleh Alhajri, in charge of managing the QCAA, and the Executive Director and CEO of COCESNA, H.E. Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino, signed the MoU. In presence of COCESNA Board Member – Guatemala, Mr. Cesar Augusto Davila Figueroa, COCESNA Board Member & Director General Civil Aviation of Honduras, Mr. Gerardo Gabriel Rivera Guifarro, Director General of Costa Rica Civil Aviation, Mr. Fernando Naranjo Elizondo, Director of Operations of Belize Civil Aviation Ms. Ronise Rosel Caliz, COCESNA Corporate Advisor, Mr. Jorge Adrian Solares Carranza. Commenting on the MoU, Minister Al-Sulaiti said, “The signing of this MoU today represents a long-term strategic partnership between Qatar and Central American countries and constitutes an important new step in the country’s endeavor to build distinguished strategic partnerships with global aviation community’s main stakeholders.” Having signed this MoU, he added, also reflects the major continued effort by the State of Qatar to reinforce cooperation in the areas of civil aviation with the COCESNA Member States, thereby supporting the activities of training, expertise exchange, and the adopting of capacity building initiatives to further enhance efficiency and technology innovation in the industry, as well as ensuring highest safety and security standards. The Minister thanked the QCAA and COCESNA for their efforts to clinch this MoU, which, he said, would serve bilateral cooperation frameworks in civil aviation and help advance this sector globally. Following the signing ceremony, Mr. Alhajri said, “The signing of this MoU commemorates the establishment of a strong strategic partnership between QCAA and COCESNA. It represents a milestone in our enduring efforts to achieve further cooperation with the Central American countries and expanding the frameworks of work between us, while we continue to support the development of the civil aviation sector. It also reflects our common aspirations to enhance capabilities and expertise of human resources and empower workers in the aviation field through the development of their capabilities and skills.” Mr. Trabanino commented by saying, “This MoU marks an important moment in our efforts to strengthen collaboration in the civil aviation sector. By joining forces with Qatar, we aim to leverage our respective strengths and expertise to drive innovation and enhance our overall capabilities whilst promoting safety and security in our countries.” Established on Feb. 26, 1960, COCESNA is a nonprofit and public service organization of Central American Integration governed by a Board of Directors composed of representatives of the signatory States of its Constitutive Agreement (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua), established with the purpose to respond and comply jointly in civil aviation matters to the international commitments undertaken as signatory countries of the Convention on International Civil Aviation of 1944.

Minister Attends Signing of Protocol Amending Provisions of Qatar-Jordan Air Services Agreement

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti Attended the signing of a protocol amending some provisions of the air services agreement signed between Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in March 2022.This amendment gives each party the right to appoint one or more air transport corporations to operate the agreed airlines. This signing also comes within the framework of strengthening the link of Qatar with air services agreements that open the way for the national carrier to expand its network to reach more destinations.The protocol was signed by, In charge of managing Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Mr. Mohammed Faleh Al-Hajri, and H.E. Captain Haitham Misto, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority (CARC), in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.Following the ceremony, H.E. Minister of Transport met with H.E. the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Jordanian (CARC), and reviewed cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries in the realms of civil aviation, and ways to further enhance them.

Minister Witnesses MoU Signing between QAA, South Korea IAAA

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Qatar Aeronautical Academy (QAA) and the Incheon Airport Aviation Academy in the Republic of South Korea (IAAA) in the field of aviation.The MoU aims to develop and implement training programs, exchange of students and trainers, cooperation activities, joint marketing, promotion, and hosting ICAO courses in both countries.The MoU was signed on behalf of QAA by Director General of the Academy H.E. Sheikh Jabor bin Hamad Al-Thani, and Vice President of Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC), Mr. Hyoung-Wook Jeon, in the presence of several representatives from both sides.On this occasion, H.E. Minister Al-Sulaiti, stressed the importance of this MoU in refining and developing the knowledge and skills of students and members of the academy’s programs, through access to the latest means of education and training in the field of civil aviation, in addition to exchanging experiences between the two sides.H.E. said: “The Ministry of Transport supports all aspects of cooperation with the world’s leading educational institutions to develop the work path of QAA with the aim of building promising generations capable of meeting the requirements of the civil aviation sector in a way that serves society and meets its needs in line with achieving the objectives of the Third National Development Strategy and implementing Qatar National Vision 2023Along the same lines, H.E. Sheikh Al Thani emphasized the importance of this MoU, which will play a strategic role in pushing the cooperation relations between the two sides to broader horizons by providing training, marketing, and promotional programs in the field of civil aviation in the interest of developing the performance of QAA.He said: “QAA’s membership in the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS program will qualify it to work alongside IIAC in the Republic of South Korea and will enable it to open a new window to view Intellectual and academic diversity between both sides.This collaboration with the Korean side is expected to bring new opportunities for work and innovation, incorporating the latest methods and practices to enhance educational and training systems for both parties. It will create an atmosphere of openness to broad fields and extensive prospects for aviation training.Mr. Hyoung-Wook Jeon stated: ‘’As we mark the beginning of this cooperative relationship, I wish to share our shared goals and vision for the sustainable development of the aviation industry. Both of our institutions play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the aviation sector, and the signing of this training cooperation MoU further emphasizes its significance.Through this collaboration, our institutions will leverage their expertise and excellence in the aviation field to utilize complementary strengths, contributing to the cultivation of global aviation professionals. We are prepared to share knowledge and experiences, broaden our mutual understanding, and open a new chapter of cooperation for the advancement of the aviation industry.’’He also added: ‘’We are confident that this cooperation will contribute significantly to supporting the training and exchange of expertise between the two sides in the field of civil aviation, and our joint efforts will play a vital role in creating a brighter future for the aviation sector in both sides.’’
