HE Minister Holds Talks with President of the ICAO Council

Montreal – Canada HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti on Friday met with President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu.During the meeting, which was held at the ICAO premises in Montreal, HE the Minister of Transport and Communications gave a presentation on aviation safety, in light of the siege imposed on the State of Qatar and its impact not only on Qatar, but on the global system of civil aviation and security.He also called on ICAO to fulfill its responsibilities in this regard, with emphasis on the State of Qatar's respect for the Chicago Convention and its annexes as well as for the international civil aviation agreements.HE the Chairman of Qatar Civil Aviation Authority Abdullah Nasser Turki Al Subaey and HE Qatar's Ambassador to Canada Fahad Mohammed Youssef Kafood attended the meeting.

ICAO Will Look Seriously into Violations of Blockade Countries, HE Minister Says

Montreal – CanadaHE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti said that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will, transparently and logically, look into the technical file submitted by the State of Qatar regarding the violations committed by the blockade countries, which could pose massive threat to the aviation’s security and safety, let alone disrupting world airlines.HE also said that there are a clear violation of all international agreements, laws, and conventions toward all civil aviation airlines, as well as the right of innocent passage of world civil aviation.HE the Minister emphasized his certainty that ICAO would take such violations seriously, which came as an unprecedented, dangerous event to safety and security, expressing his confidence that ICAO will take over its full responsibilities toward these violations.

Paris, DohaHE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti has held discussions with French Minister for Transport Ms. Élisabeth Borne during a business trip to Paris. The two officials discussed a number of matters of common interest between Qatar and France in the field of transport and mobility and means of further enhancing them, as well as the possibility of benefiting from potential investment opportunities in both countries.HE Minister Al-Sulaiti also explained in details the technical file that has been submitted to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and other organizations, supported with evidences about the violations of the blockade countries and the harms inflected on air and nautical sectors. The file also highlighted the massive violations of all international nautical and air agreements and conventions and posing a threat to safety and security of all countries and not only to the State of Qatar.The meeting was attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to France Khalid bin Rashid Al Mansouri.

MOTC, IMO in discussions on blockade of Qatar by three Gulf states

Doha, QatarThe Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) has been in discussions with the General Secretariat of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) concerning violations of international maritime agreements by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the increasingly negative measures taken by these countries in imposing a shipping blockade of Qatar. The Ministry has highlighted not only the adverse commercial consequences of the blockade but also the dangers it is causing to the safety of shipping in the Gulf.The IMO has now confirmed that it is setting up a team to investigate the violations.The Ministry has expressed confidence in the international organizations that are working hard to implement their agreements and laws.
