The Ministry of Transport and Communications has hosted several government entities at an awareness session on installing, upgrading and licensing Oracle software and products.
The technical event was attended by at least 50 specialists and senior staff from multiple government entities. It tackled the different techniques of how to license Oracle products and software on top of different infrastructure and virtualized environments and clouds.
Participants also learnt about Oracle licensing measurement tools and using them to evaluate Oracle Install Base at work environment. With technology now indivisible from business strategy, the workshop also investigated the importance of ensuring every effort is taken to improve the use of IT resources, reduce cost and risk, and put in place the capabilities to overcome any disruption.
The session is the first of its kind that Oracle LMS has conducted in the Middle East. It will be followed by site visits for one-on-one meetings and discussions with some government entities to understand their needs and resolve their licensing challenges.
