Minister, Turkish Counterpart Discuss Enhancing Cooperation

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met with Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Abdul Qader Uraloglu.The two ministers discussed cooperation relations and ways to enhance them in transportation, ports, and civil aviation, particularly in terms of adopting smart and ecofriendly technologies on transportation and its associated services in a way that fulfills the two countries’ aspirations and interests.

Libyan Transport Ministry Delegation Visits MOT

A Libyan Ministry of Transport delegation has paid a visit to the MOT to explore its maritime transportation sector’s development plans.During the visit, MOT’s Assistant Undersecretary of Maritime Transport Affairs Dr. Saleh Bin Fetais Al-Marri held a meeting with the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Ports Company (LPCO) Mohamed Ali Humaidan. They discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of ports, and maritime transportation.

Algerian Transport Ministry Delegation Visits MOT

Minister Participates in “Global Logistics Forum” Ministerial Roundtable

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti has participated in the Ministerial Roundtable (Diwan) at the Global Logistics Forum, which opened in Riyadh in attendance of several Arab and foreign ministers and senior officials.Highlighting the current challenges to supply chains and world trade, Minister Al-Sulaiti, in his remarks, stressed the importance of working together to make a fundamental change in the warehousing and logistics market to ultimately create several gainful opportunities by adopting digital transformation, clean energy in transportation to improve the efficiency of logistics services, streamlining the regulatory procedures, and enhancing international cooperation.He said that the initiatives Qatar launches to keep pace with the transformation in the logistics, warehousing and transportation industries are creating promising investment opportunities, by providing an ecofriendly infrastructure that is equipped with latest technologies and compliant with highest efficiency and competitiveness standards, in addition to flexible laws and legislation that meet investors’ aspirations.These efforts, he said, led to Qatar having been ranked 14th and 19th globally on the latest WB’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) and the Global Quality Infrastructure Index (GQII), respectively.To reinforce these initiatives, he said, work is underway to put in motion a national strategy for logistics services sector, aiming to solidify Qatar’s ranking as a global logistics hub and enable traders and investors with less time and cost and this would support the requirements of economic diversification clusters for logistics services and shipping.Minister Al-Sulaiti said that Qatar’s vision for developing its logistics industry, and the various associated services is not just an ambitious thought, but a necessity to achieve economic growth and sustainability. He also welcomed working closely with governments, global bodies and the private sector to make this vision a reality.
