Titled, “Stakeholder Engagement for Policy, Scheme, and Target Development”, the workshop was attended by representatives from government and private entities, experts and specialists from the transportation, environment, and public health industries.

The project on the “Strategy for Mitigating Land Transport Impact on Health and Environment” is one of MOT’s initiatives aimed at putting together an integrated strategy supported by a portfolio of projects to mitigate the environmental and health impacts of land transportation, improve energy efficiency, enhance air quality, promote sustainable transportation solutions, provide recommendations and programs to address the challenges resulting from using the various modes of transportation, and develop scientific frameworks and assessment tools to study and analyze their impacts, said the Land Transport Planning Department Director, MOT, Saleh Said Al-Marri.

The MOT continues its collaborative approach when developing national policies, ensuring accurate, applicable, and widely accepted deliverables and outcomes.

The workshop discussed the phases of the project, assessment tools, policy development, and future projects. It also featured surveys and open discussions among stakeholders on the policies, projects, and KPIs based on each stakeholder’s future directions and implementation mechanisms.

Noteworthy, the MOT Strategy includes national policies and projects that support environmental sustainability and better quality of life, in line with the goals of the NDS3 and QNV 2030.
