The State of Qatar has attended the 27th Meeting of the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Transport of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), held in Kuwait.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Maadeed headed the Qatari delegation to the meeting.

The meeting discussed several topics aimed at enhancing GCC cooperation in the areas of transportation, including the works of the GCC Railways Authority, latest updates on the GCC Railway Project, the land transportation strategy, the recommended amendments to the GCC uniform system for universal land transportation, and its implementing regulations, as well as the rules and controls over the entry of conventional merchant ships to the waters and ports of the GCC countries and the quays to accommodate that type of vessels.

Several other topics were discussed, and the necessary recommendations are to be prepared and reported to the meeting of the GCC transportation ministers.
