Minister Meets with Greek Maritime Affairs Minister

Doha-Minister of Transport HE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met with Greece’s Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy HE Ioannis Plakiotakis, on the sidelines of Qatari delegation’s participation in the 32nd Session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Assembly.The meeting discussed Qatari-Greek cooperation relations in the fields of transportation, maritime transportation and harbors and means of further enhancing them.The meeting was attended by Director of International Organizations Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), HE Ambassador Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, and Acting Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the UK HE Ambassador Mohammed Abdullah Al-Jaber.

Minister Heads Qatar Delegation to 32nd Session of IMO Assembly

London-The State of Qatar attended the opening session of the 32nd Session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Assembly, held at IMO headquarters in London today. The Qatari delegation was headed by Minister of Transport HE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti, and includes the Director of International Organizations Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), HE Ambassador Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri.The 32nd Assembly Session meetings discuss the issues relating to maritime navigation’s safety and security and marine environment protection. The Session will also see the IMO Council elections.

Ministry, Bodies Concerned Meet on Maritime Safety, Security

Doha-The Ministry of Transport, represented by Maritime Transport Affairs, held a coordination meeting with professionals and specialists from several state authorities concerned with maritime safety and security in Qatari waters in the context of preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.The meeting discussed the necessary measures to maintain maritime safety and security.

Minister Meets with St. Lucian IMO Delegation

London - UK Minister of Transport HE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met in London with a delegation representing St. Lucian in the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The delegation includes the Minister of Commerce, Industry, Enterprise Development and Consumer Affairs Hon. Emma Hippolyte, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Physical Planning, Natural Resources and Cooperatives Hon. Alfred Prospere, and Export Saint Lucia CEO Ms. Sunita Daniel. Export Saint Lucia is the Saint Lucian Government’s National Trade Export and Promotion Agency. The meeting comes on the sidelines of a Qatari delegation visit to the IMO. It discussed Qatari-St. Lucian cooperation relations in the fields of transportation and maritime transport and ways of further enhancing them.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations between Qatar and IMO in the fields of protecting marine environment and the country’s efforts to support maritime transportation industry, and ways of further developing them.
