Ministry Opens Maritime Vessel Registration Office at Doha Port

Doha – QatarThe Ministry of Transport today opened a new maritime vessels registration office at Doha Port where beneficiaries can register a maritime vessel, renew an existing registration, transfer the ownership of a maritime vessel, and obtain all types of certificates for small vessels.MOT is inaugurating this office within the framework of its plans to improve maritime transportation services to the public by expanding maritime vessels registration offices to make the services available and easy to access, said Asst. Undersecretary, Maritime Transport Affairs, Dr. Saleh bin Fetais Al-Marri.This office, he added, will also help with integrating the services at Doha Port, which is Qatar’s maritime tourism destination and one of its top tourism landmarks.Al-Marri said MOT will continue its efforts to offer services to the public in the best possible way. Currently, he noted, the Ministry offers some 28 e-services for small and large vessels and work is underway to develop and automize all services for maritime vessels, large vessels and maritime certificates and licensees, in addition to developing an electronic application for all maritime services and transactions for the public, shipowners and maritime companies, and opening a maritime vessels registration office in Al Wakra.MOT has maritime vessels registration offices in Al Khor and Al Ruwais, in addition to the main office at the Ministry’s headquarters.

Undersecretary, Maritime Transport Affairs, Dr. Saleh bin Fetais Al-Marri, met with a delegation from UK Department of Transport headed by the deputy head of operations. Held in the Ministry’s offices, the meeting discussed enhancing bilateral relations and exchanging expertise on maritime safety, in addition to the importance of holding joint workshops that can contribute to updating maritime transportation specialists with latest world developments and providing them with essential expertise and skills of maritime security.

Doha – Qatar Minister of Transport HE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti and Minister of External Affairs, International Trade and Civil Aviation of Saint Lucia Hon Alva R. Baptiste today signed an air services agreement between the State of Qatar and Saint Lucia. The agreement comes in the context of connecting Qatar with more air services agreements that open airspaces for the national carrier to fly to more destinations around the world. Following the signing ceremony, the two ministers reviewed Qatari-Saint Lucian relations in the fields of civil aviation services and ways to further enhance them.

Ministry Holds Reception for ACAO Member States

Rabat – Morocco Attended by Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti, the Ministry of Transport has organized a reception ceremony in the name of the State of Qatar for Member States of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, on the occasion of the 66th meeting of the ACAO Executive Council. The event was attended by Moroccan Minister of Transport and Logistics H.E. Mohamed Abdeljalil, Chairman of ACAO Executive Council Capt. Haitham Mesto, and ACAO Director General Eng. Abdennebi Manar. Several ministers, heads and representatives of Member States’ delegations, and accredited ambassadors in Morocco, were also present. Mr. Mesto congratulated Qatar on the historic success of hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022, which amazed the world. He praised Qatar’s efforts in managing the air traffic during the global tournament, which saw a surge in air traffic movements. He also wished more progress and prosperity for the Qatari people. Mr. Mesto also expressed his pride of the deep relation between the ACAO and both MOT and Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, affirming both sides’ eagerness to push those relations to broader horizons in such a way that serves joint, constructive Arab action.
