MOT Participates in QU Supply Chain Symposium

The Ministry’s participated in the 1st Symposium on Supply Chain and Logistics in Qatar – a joint effort of QU College of Business and Economics, Center for Entrepreneurship and Organizational Excellence, the Qatar Chamber, and LCI-Qatar.

 

Addressing the symposium, MOT’s Acting Assistant Undersecretary, Land Transport Affairs, Eng. Hamad Essa Abdulla, highlighted the MOT’s role in establishing an integrated transportation and mobility system that caters for the supply chains and enhances the goods transportation ecosystem in an economic and integrated fashion, in addition to providing the logistics services that assist in the supply chains, being the main artery that connects Qatar with the world.

 

He also highlighted the MOT’s plans that resulted in connecting Qatar’s commercial ports with numerous regional and international ports, thereby ensuring a sustainable influx of goods and commodities. He also said the Ministry signed several international MoUs and agreements, such as the TIR Convention, to facilitate and provide alternatives and routes for the transportation of consumer goods and materials in an efficient and economical manner, as well as minimizing the administrative procedures and facilitating the transit.
