Minister Meets with ICAO Secretary General

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met with the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) H.E. Juan Carlos Salazar, on the sidelines of Qatar’s participation in the International Civil Aviation Conference organized by the ICAO in Seoul, South Korea.The two officials discussed enhancing cooperation between Qatar and the ICAO in civil aviation, and latest developments on the field.

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met with Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) of the Republic of Korea H.E. Sangwoo Park, on the sidelines of Qatar’s participation in the International Civil Aviation Conference organized by the ICAO in Seoul, South Korea.The two ministers discussed current Qatari-S. Korean cooperation in transportation, mobility activities, and ways to develop it, particularly by taking advantage of transportation industry’s advanced and smart technologies.

Minister Attends Ministerial Session at ICAO Int’l Civil Aviation Conf.

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti has participated in the Ministerial Session held on the sidelines of the International Civil Aviation Conference organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Seoul, South Korea. The ICAO Secretary General H.E. Juan Carlos Salazar was in attendance.The meeting discussed ICAO’s efforts to develop air navigation’s foundations and technologies, planning, as well as developing the air transportation industry for ensured safety, security, and growth, in addition to discussing the topics that can enhance the environmental and sustainable development of the global civil aviation industry.

Minister Heads Qatar Delegation to ICAO Int’l Civil Aviation Conf.

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti headed the State of Qatar’s delegation to the International Civil Aviation Conference organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in conjunction with the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, in Seoul, South Korea. The event is attended by the ICAO Secretary General H.E. Juan Carlos Salazar, several ministers, and heads of delegations from 86 countries. The event is intended to inform and update government officials on the Work Program of the ICAO in the legal field and several current subjects in the field of International Air Law (IAL). In particular, the Seminar is addressing topics relating to ICAO's work in the legal field, aviation’s safety and security, and current issues on aviation law and practice.Qatar is a member of the ICAO Council and contributing significantly to the Organization’s programs, including training, and upskilling the workforce through scholarships for the developing countries, training opportunities for workforce from Africa, and from Latin America in the future, in addition to Qatar’s contributions to Gender Equality Program, all of which are aimed at a sustainable future for the aviation industry.

MOT Wraps Up Inspection Campaign on Limousine Cars

The Ministry of Transport has wrapped up an inspection campaign on limousine cars that can be booked via electronic applications.The MOT conducted the campaign across Qatar throughout the days of the Eid Al-Fitr in coordination with the MOI’s General Directorate of Traffic, particularly the areas highly frequented by citizens, residents, and tourists.The campaign aimed at verifying the limousine companies’ compliance with MOT’s necessary quality and service requirements for both the cars and drivers.

Ministry Expands Lusail Tram Service, Pink & Orange Lines Operational

The Ministry of Transport is expanding the service of the Lusail Tram starting this Monday, April 8. The MOT will operate the Pink Line service and all the Orange Line stations.Ten new Orange Line stations are coming to service: Naifa, Fox Hills – South, Downtown Lusail, Al Khayl Street, Fox Hills – North, Crescent Park – North, Rawdat Lusail, Erkiyah, Lusail Stadium, and Al Yasmeen.All Pink Line stations are to be operated in this phase as well, from Legtaifiya to Seef Lusail – North, except for Al Sa’ad Plaza, which will come to service later. The Pink Line service in operation will include 10 stations. By so doing, the number of new stations to come to service rises to 14, taking the total number of operational stations in Lusail Tram to 21.Lusail Tram service runs 7 days a week with the same service hours as the Doha Metro: Saturday through Wednesday from 05:30 a.m. to 12:00 midnight. On Thursdays, the service runs from 05:30 a.m. 01:00 a.m. and on Fridays from 02:00 p.m. to 01:00 a.m.With the Pink Line service and Orange Line stations coming to service, the public will be able to use the tram to travel directly to several areas and destinations in Lusail, including Al Seef, the Crescent Park, Lusail Boulevard, Al Maha Island, and others, as well as connect to the Metro network via Legtaifiya Station.This comes in consistent with MOT’s plans of providing an integrated, sustainable, ecofriendly, and multimodal public transit system.
