HE Minister Holds Talks with Azerbaijan Ambassador

Doha – HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti met here today with HE the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Qatar Dr. Tofiq Abdullayev.The two officials discussed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries in the fields of transportation, aviation and communications, and means of further enhancing them.

Doha-HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti  officially launched its new e-commerce platform - The Turkish Souq (www.turkishsouq.qa) at an impressive ceremony at the Mondrian Hotel in Doha in the presence of Qatar Post chairman and managing director Faleh al-Naemi, managing director of Turkish Post (PTT) Kenan Bozgeyik, Turkish ambassador Fikret Ozer and other dignitaries, Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post)HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti, said: "I'm delighted to launch this platform which is set to revolutionise e-commerce in Qatar. The depth of Qatari-Turkish bilateral relations and constructive co-operation in the fields of post, transport, ports, and aviation, whose foundations were laid by the Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani and the Turkish President Recep Erdogan cannot be overemphasised,"."This platform will further strengthen the level of trade between the countries and greatly enhance the fraternal relationship between the two countries," HE added,  products reach consumers within seven days of order. He said they are preparing around 150 local companies for entering e-commerce segment and are training another 5,000 companies to do the same in future.

HE Minister launches CAA's new website, mobile application

Doha-HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti has inaugurated the new Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) website in the presence of CAA Chairman Abdulla bin Nasser Turki al-Subaiey, and number of CAA heads of sections and units.The new website represents a comprehensive interactive digital platform of all CAA related news and information in addition to the latest updates regarding the air transport sector and the aviation industry.The initiative emphasises the CAA’s continuous approach to develop the content destined to the public and its constant endeavour to keep up with the modern technologies and most recent layouts applied to international websites.The new CAA website is characterised by a unique layout of colours and clear images which facilitate access to information enabling visitors to utilise browsing and search options for further familiarisation with news and events organised or attended by CAA, including Air Services Agreements (ASA) and all civil aviation news in Qatar and around the world.The website also includes various electronic services provided by CAA departments such as air safety, air navigation and meteorology, besides the publications section containing “Qatar Sky Magazine” issues and other CAA publications.There is also a section dedicated to the announcement of tenders and auctions issued by CAA on a regular basis.The new website has been launched in parallel with the mobile application “CAA Qatar” as an additional method of smooth communication between the CAA and individuals, companies, government entities at a local, regional and international scale.CAA Qatar is available on Android and IOS to provide the public with more than five electronic services, including weather forecast as well as a new service to be subsequently supplemented to the application at the end of this year, which could be accessed by creating an account into the application.On the occasion, the CAA chairman stated: “The launch of the new website and mobile application is within the framework of our continuous endeavours to further develop our communication policy to facilitate CAA interaction with the public both individuals and entities.He added that such initiative also reflects CAA’s commitment to provide its services by means of the best and most rapid ways, deploying its utmost persistent efforts to maximise the benefits of utilising the latest technologies to achieve the optimal results and its vigorous pursuit of updating the local and international public about CAA latest news and events.The CAA’s new website may be visited via the following link: http://www.caa.gov.qa.The CAA Qatar mobile application is downloadable from Android and IOS app stores.

They also reviewed the potential investment opportunities available in these industries, as well as a number of matters of common interest between the two friendly countries.

HE Minister Holds Talks with Sudanese Minister, Reviews Relations

Doha – HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti met here today with HE the Khartoum State’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation Eng. Khalid Mohammed Khair.The meeting comes in implementation of the MoU signed between the Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani Qatar) and the Port of Port Sudan to develop the Port of Suakin on the Red Sea, making it a key seaport for cargo transportation.The meeting discussed the commencement of concrete discussions and development works at the port, which is considered the fundamental lifeblood for the Port Sudan area. The meeting also discussed giving directives to the work team to complete the necessary studies in the shortest possible time.This partnership will be given a concession at the free economic zone, thus serving the mutual investment.The meeting also witnessed a business agreement between the Khartoum State and Mowasalat (Karwa) for supplying 505 buses from Karwa to Sudan.The two officials also discussed cooperation ties and mutual relations between the brotherly countries in the fields of mobility and transportation.
