Minister Meets with Saudi Counterpart

Minister of Transport H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani met with Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H.E. Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, on the sidelines of his visit to the exhibition accompanying the 2nd annual Sustainable Maritime Industry Conference (SMIC) in Jeddah.The two ministers discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation in transportation, and ways to enhance them in areas of expertise exchange, infrastructure development’s best practices, and land, maritime, air, and railroad transportation networks integration.The meeting was attended by several senior officials from the Saudi Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services.

Minister of Transport H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani met with Minister of Works and Transport of the Republic of Namibia Hon. Veikko Nekundi, in the Ministry’s offices.The two ministers discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation in transportation, and ways to enhance them, particularly in civil aviation, ports, and their associated logistics services.

MOT Undersecretary Visits Port of Salalah

The MOT Undersecretary H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Maadeed has paid a visit to the Port of Salalah and its operational facilities in Oman. He was escorted by his Oman counterpart H.E. Eng.Khamis bin Mohammed Al-Shamakh and briefed by the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Salalah Port Services Co. Mohammed Al Mashani on the port’s operational capacity, and future development plans.Qatar and Oman continue enhancing their cooperation and exchange of expertise in the areas of ports and logistic services to support regional and global trade and to further develop the maritime transportation industry.

Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, in the Ministry’s offices.The two ministers discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation in transportation, and ways to propel them to new heights, particularly in logistic services that support that vital industry.They also discussed the common opportunities that can be utilized by the two countries thanks to their unique geographical locations, thereby enhancing their leading regional and international positions in sustainable transportation.The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Maadeed, H.H. Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Qatar Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Farhan Al-Saud, Vice Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H.E. Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih, and several other officials from both sides.

MOT Conducts Inspection Campaign on Maritime Vessels

The MOT has conducted a new inspection campaign on maritime vessels in collaboration with MOI’s General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security. The campaign aimed at ensuring that the maritime vessels meet all safety requirements.Professionals from MOT inspected safety and security equipment on board to make sure they are available and functioning, as well as helmsmen’s compliance with all safety instructions as per the laws and regulations in place.

MOT’s “Change Management” Session Concludes

An MOT “Change Management” session aimed at leadership tuning has concluded. Coordinated with the Planning, Quality & Innovation Dept, the session was meant to harmonize the MOT leadership with the developments of the current phase as preparations are underway to launch the MOT’s new strategy 2025-2030. Leadership tuning helps the teams move in the right direction with greater focus and clear next steps.In attendance were MOT Undersecretary H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Maadeed, several MOT officials and department directors. The goal is to engage the Ministry executives in this important phase which requires their full preparedness. The session focused on explaining work mechanisms and methodology when the strategy takes effect.Constructive and fruitful discussions revolved around the execution of the new strategy, reflecting a spirit of responsibility and active contribution to government performance excellence.
