Paris – FranceHE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti held talks in Paris with the Director-General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission, Mr. Henrik Hololei.The two officials discussed means of enhancing Qatar-European Commission relations in the fields of civil aviation and transportation. They also addressed the opportunities of advancement in aviation industry.The meeting was attended by Head of Strategy & Communication Unit at the European Commission Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport, Mr. Moumen Hamdouch.

Minister Attends International Paris Air Show Le Bourget Opening Ceremony

Paris – FranceHE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti has attended the opening ceremony of the 53rd International Paris Air Show Le Bourget, which HE French President Emmanuel Macron inaugurated in the presence of senior officials from several countries and top world aircraft manufacturers.The aerospace industry’s marquee event is a chance to take the pulse of the $150-billion-a-year commercial aircraft industry.On the sidelines of the show, HE the Minister met with French Minister for Transport Ms. Elisabeth Borne. The two officials discussed cooperation in the fields of aviation and transportation and a number of matters of common interest between the two countries and means of further enhancing them. The meeting was attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to France HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive HE Mr. Akbar Al Baker.

Qatar Launches “Aviation Cyber Security Guidelines”

Doha – QatarQatar’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has released Version 1 of the “Aviation Cyber Security Guidelines” in collaboration with the Cybersecurity Affairs Sector of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.The guidelines include standards and principles relating to securing critical aviation systems, in addition to best practices in electronic security in the field.This has made Qatar the first country in the Middle East to have released such guidelines that focus on the deployment of the standards that aim to face and mitigate electronic threats and attacks in the civil aviation industry.The guidelines are hoped to contribute to raising the awareness of all stakeholders and those who work in the industry in Qatar by guiding them to cybersecurity best practices.The issuance of these guidelines complies with the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) that urge all Member States to apply such standards and measures and continue cooperation and mutual support at the local and universal levels.CAA hails the efforts and support made by the MOTC’s Cybersecurity Sector in releasing these guidelines.To view the policy, please click this link.
