Doha – Qatar

The Ministry of Transport and Communications’ Qatar Computer Emergency Response Team (Q-CERT) has organized a four-day National Information Assurance (NIA) Policy Implementation training course at its offices in Al Nasr Tower.

Delivered by professional, certified trainers, the course was attended by representatives from 16 critical government and semi-government sectors such as transportation, health, sports and telecommunications.

The training is a part of a series of NIA Policy trainings planned for this year by the Ministry’s Cybersecurity Sector.

“The training is part of our strategic objectives for building up national capacities in the realm of cybersecurity and MOTC continues holding such training courses to develop and sharpen the national cyber defense capabilities countrywide,” said Mr. Eng. Khalid Al-Hashmi, Asst. Undersecretary of Cyber Security at MOTC.

“The NIA Policy is the national information security policy for the State of Qatar and it is mandatory for government entities and critical industries across the country. It helps organizations implement an Information Security Management System and, thereby, build a cybersecurity culture within the business and improve their cybersecurity maturity,” he added.
