Ministry of transport and communications continues its work to implement the second stage of Al Ruwais Port development project.
The target of this huge project, that has three phases, is that the port operates according to the international standards. The project includes deepening the navigation channel to 10m by the end of the third phase, deepening the marine basins at depth of 10m, in addition to expanding the basis and the quay extension.
The launch of the first phase of Al Ruwais Port comes in implementation of Emiri Decision No. 76 of 2014 on the operating the port in order to ease the entry and exit of vessels, goods, travellers, import and export, and stimulating commercial exchange between countries of the region.
The first phase is be dedicated at first to wooden ships, supply vessels and services, and work on the second phase is devoted to executing and operating the commercial port while The third phase will includes deepening and expanding the bases
Al Ruwais Port will be Qatar’s northern gate to the world and will serve as another commercial outlet along with Doha Port.
