The Ministry of Transport and Communications announced the opening of the nominations for the Qatar Digital Business Awards 2021, which is held under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti, Minister of Transport and Communications.
The awards, now in its sixth edition, target all companies operating in the digital industry in Qatar and comes within the framework of the Ministry of Transport and Communications’ keenness to honor and appreciate small, medium and emerging enterprises and companies that have contributed to the development of the digital sector during 2019-2021.
Those wishing to participate must complete their applications on the website www.qitba.qa no later than August 17th, 2021, while the winners will be announced in August 2021.
In line with the precautionary measures and measures related to the health and safety of the Coronavirus, winners will be announced electronically via the Internet with the addition of a new category for the most innovative solution to respond to COVID-19.
This year’s awards are in 11 categories:

- Systems Integrator of the Year
- Mobile App of the Year
- Cloud Solution of the Year
- Digital Startup of the Year
- Smart Solution of the Year
- SME Digital Transformation of the Year
- E-Commerce Solution of the Year
- Innovative Fintech Solution of the Year
- ICT Exporter of the Year
- Most Valuable Innovation Response to COVID-19
On this occasion, Her Excellency Reem Mohammed Al Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Society Development Affairs at the Ministry of Transport and Communications said: "The Ministry of Transport and Communications seeks to build a solid ecosystem for information and communication technology and recognize that the presence of local companies and local innovators is a vital element in the success of this sector. The Qatar Digital Business Award comes in the pursuit of this goal, as all award categories are linked to the Ministry's strategic objectives. Chief among them is establishing a favorable digital system, promoting entrepreneurship, improving innovation in information and communication technology, and supporting the growth of this sector.”
“We aim to create this by upgrading the standards and quality of services and capabilities of companies in the local telecommunications and information technology market while at the same time employing technology to develop a digital economy,” she added.
