Qatar participated with a delegation from the Ministry of Transport in the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities conference held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, in the presence of delegations of the organization's Member States. 
The Ministry's delegation was headed by Assistant Undersecretary of Maritime Transport, Dr. Saleh bin Fetais Al Marri. The conference reviewed several topics related to training, capacity building, and the development of ship traffic services, in addition to discussing the organization's general regulations.
