Minister Meets with ICAO Council President

Minister of Transport HE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met here today with President of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council HE Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano.
The two officials reviewed Qatar-ICAO civil aviation relations and means of further enhancing them. They also discussed ways to contribute to environment protection issues and carbon emissions reduction R&D.
The ICAO Regional Director, Middle East Office, HE Eng. Mohamed Farea participated in the meeting.
Following the meeting, Mr. Sciacchitano and Mr. Farea visited the Hamad International Airport Tower building and the Qatar Air Traffic Control and their service facilities and were briefed on some of the sophisticated operational technologies in use. They also visited the Qatar Science and Technology Park at Qatar Foundation.
Mr. Sciacchitano praised the major development of Qatar’s civil aviation sector and thanked the efforts Qatar had done during the coronavirus pandemic, its effective contribution to transportation industry and continued backing of the ICAO.
