Minister Meets with Egyptian Counterpart

Minister of Transport HE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met in Cairo with Minister of Transport of the Arab Republic of Egypt HE Vice Admiral Eng. Kamel Elwazir, on the sidelines of the Arab transport ministers’ meeting.
The two ministers discussed aspects of cooperation in the fields of transportation and civil aviation and ways of further enhancing them, in addition to mutually supporting the nominations of the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt for the membership of the Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which is the Executive Organ of IMO, for the period 2022-2023. They also discussed several topics that interest the two brotherly countries.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Sulaiti affirmed Qatar’s commitment to backing the application by Egypt to host the IMO Regional Office for Arab States in accordance with the decision issued by the Council of Arab Transport Ministers in 2019.
