Minister Discusses Enhancing Relations with African Nations

Qatar’s transportation cooperation ties with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of Angola and the Republic of Sierra Leone were reviewed when Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met with his three African counterparts on the sidelines of Qatar’s participation in the 41st Session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly.

The minister held separate meetings with the DRC’s Minister of Transport and Channels of Communication H.E. Chérubin Okende Senga, Angola’s Minister of Transport H.E. Ricardo Viegas D’Abreu, and Sierra Leon’s Minister of Transport and Aviation Hon. Kabineh Moinama Kallon. They discussed ways to enhance relations to new horizons covering the areas of training and technical capacity building in civil aviation. They also reviewed latest developments on civil aviation industry.

Qatar has agreements with those three countries in the fields of air services, civil aviation, mereology, harbors and maritime transportation.

Qatar’s Ambassador to Canada H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Rashid Al-Mansouri, Director of Department of International Organizations, MOFA, H.E. Ambassador Ali bin Khalfan Al Mansouri, and Mr. Mohamed Faleh Alhajri, who is in charge of managing the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), attended the meetings.
