Doha – Qatar
The Agreement was signed by Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Chairman HE Mr. Abdulla bin Nasser Turki Al Subaey and EASA Executive Director Mr. Patrick Ky, at the Ministry offices today.
Under the Agreement, the CAA is joining the EU Ramp Inspection Program. The Agreement also boosts cooperation and exchange of information between CAA and EASA, in addition to possible exchange of the Program database between the two sides.
The Agreement is of great importance in enhancing cooperation with international organizations with extensive experience in aviation safety, thereby helping develop Qatar’s civil aviation industry. Qatar is a pioneer in civil aviation safety and the first to have scored 91.16% in the overall audit conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on all aspects of air safety in its civil aviation system.
Following the signing ceremony, HE the Minister had a meeting with Mr. Ky during which the two officials reviewed means of further enhancing cooperation with the Agency, latest developments relating to civil aviation safety in the region and best practices for maintaining environmental integrity.
Mr. Al Subaey and the delegation accompanying the EASA senior official were also present at the meeting.
