More than 28 schools took part in the competition, with projects covering a wide-range of subjects, including math, science, Arabic, English, religion and history.

"Technology is changing the learning process worldwide. To reach today's students, true digital natives, it's essential for schools to integrate technology into the classroom. The Digital Star Competition is a great way for teachers to showcase their lesson plans that use technology to better reach students, and to have students share their exciting ideas. In technology, it's often the youth that are leading innovation" said Dr. Ghadah Omar Fekieh, ictQATAR's e-Education Manager.

Nine teams of students and nine teachers were awarded prizes in the competition. For each group, first, second and third place prizes were awarded for Primary, Preparatory and Secondary schools. The competition was open to all teachers and students in Qatar. Students were asked to submit digital projects based on lessons taught in their schools showing how the lessons could be improved through the use of technology. Teachers were asked to submit lessons plans that integrate ICT. A panel of judges that included representatives from ictQATAR, CNA-Q and the Supreme Education Council selected the winners.
