Doha – Qatar (October 4, 2016) HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif al Sulaiti participated in the 26th Universal Postal Union (UPU) Congress in Istanbul on Tuesday.
The meeting discussed the current state and future of the global postal sector and focused particularly on discussing the World Postal Strategy 2017-2020.
On the sidelines of the congress, HE the Minister witnessed the signing ceremony of a postal cooperation agreement between the Qatar Postal Services Company (Q-Post) and the national post and telegraph directorate of Turkey (PTT). The event was also attended by Turkish Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communications Ahmet Arslan. The cooperation will be in mail and packages, electronic and secure banking services.
The agreement was signed by the Chairman and Managing Director of Q-Post Faleh Mohammed al Nuaimi and the PTT Chairman of the Executive Board and Director-General Kenan Bozgeyik. The Qatari Ambassador to Turkey HE Mr. Salem Mubarak Al Shafi also attended the signing ceremony and a number of senior officials from the two companies.
