HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti and his Turkish counterpart HE Minister of Transport, Marine Affairs and Communications Mr. Ahmet Arslan announced the launch of an e-commerce platform “the Turkish Souq”. The online platform, which is planned to be available for Qatari market as of Jan. 1, 2018, will be providing Qatari market with up to 5 million high-quality Turkish products.
In a press briefing on the sidelines of the International E-Commerce Conference in Turkey, HE Minister Al-Sulaiti emphasized the depth of Qatari-Turkish bilateral relations and constructive cooperation in the fields of post, transport, ports, and aviation, whose foundations were laid by HH the Emir and HE the Turkish President.
He said that the coming days will witness the signing of a cooperation agreement in the interest of the two friendly countries. He also said the two sides share the same intentions that aim for developing the bilateral relations to the best format.
HE Turkish Minister Arslan affirmed developing the bilateral relations in the fields of transport, communications, and aviation to the highest level, adding that the national carriers in both countries are among the top air carriers in the world. He also announced that the State of Qatar has obtained air transport routes to make flights to Trabzon, Bodrum, Adana and Antalya. HE Mr. Arslan said a tripartite cooperation agreement will be signed soon in the field of transport between Turkey, Qatar, and Iran, which would help accelerate commodity delivery and facilitate trade exchange between the two countries.
HE Qatar's Ambassador to Turkey Salem bin Mubarak Al Shafi, Qatar Post Chairman, and Managing Director Mr. Faleh Mohamed Al-Naemi and Turkey Post PTT (Posta ve Telgraf Teşkilatı) Corporation Director-General Mr. Kenan Bozgeyik attended the press conference.
