HE Minister Meets with President and Secretary General of the ICAO Council

HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti on Tuesday held separate meetings with HE Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu, President of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council and Dr. Fang Liu, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), at the ICAO’s headquarters in Montreal.
The meetings tackled the two complaints submitted by the State of Qatar on the negative effects caused by the blockade countries on aviation and air security and safety.
The minister called on ICAO to fulfill its responsibilities, while stressing Qatar’s respect for the Chicago Convention and its annexes and the International Air Service Transit Agreement.
The minister appreciated the role played by ICAO in maintaining aviation safety and Security and smooth traffic.
The meetings were attended by the Qatari Ambassador to Canada Mr. Fahad Mohammed Yousif Kafood, Chairman of Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority HE Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Turki Al-Subaey and the Director of International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H.E Mr. Yousef bin Sultan Yousef Laram.
