HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Dr. Fang Liu. HE the Minister discussed the State of Qatar’s fair demands for the right of passage, and blockade countries’ violations of international law, especially Article 54 of the 1944 Chicago Convention. He urged the blockade countries to respect the law and the signed agreements, which expressly stipulate the said rights, with actions and not with words, for the right of passage, which is guaranteed by the law and which was respected by Qatar only. The blockade countries have to respect the country’s sovereign right and refrain from applying the law of the jungle.

The meeting was attended by the Qatari Ambassador to Canada Mr. Fahad Mohammed Yousif Kafood and Chairman of Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority HE Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Turki Al-Subaey.
