HH the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah today honored the Qatar Official e-Government Portal (Hukoomi) for winning 2017 His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award, among other winners, on the “Government Sector” category, at a ceremony organized at Bayan Palace in the capital Kuwait.

HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti received the award in the presence of several ministers and senior officials. He expressed thanks and appreciation to HH the Emir of Kuwait for his patronage and continuing encouragement to the awards, as well as to HH Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah.

Currently, after launching Hukoomi Phase 3, the portal is rich with information about at least 1380 digital services. Some 690 of them can be accessed and executed by companies, citizens, residents and visitors. They cover multiple sectors such as health, education, and business.  The user-friendly portal has enhanced search functions and can also be accessed by people with disabilities. It also includes a special page for migrant workers in five languages.

Hukoomi is also available on mobile devices with the unique user experience. The portal is under an ongoing improvement and enhancement operation for better functioning.

The His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award was first launched in 2001 to promote online knowledge and develop human capacity in the realm of informatics. It includes three sections. The Kuwait Award is focused on Kuwaiti society; individuals, government and nongovernment entities as well as citizens and non-Arab residents. The Arab World Award is open to individuals and organizations from all Arab countries. The Appreciation Award is dedicated to individuals and organizations from Kuwait and the Arab countries in general for distinguished projects, initiatives, and milestones in the realm of informational development.
