Doha – Qatar

The Ministry of Transport and Communications announces application for admission to the “IT Digital Leadership Training Program” is now open until this December 22.

The “IT Digital Leadership Training Program” is a 6-month new training program developed for the first time in Qatar to fulfil the needs of the middle-management IT executives. It is designed to develop new digital skills for mid-tenured IT managers in Qatar while applying learnings within practical business contexts. It thus contributes to qualifying a new generation of IT leadership in Qatar in line with the overarching strategic objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The new training program functions under the umbrella of the boarder Qatar Digital Government Training Program (QDGTP), which includes a number of specialized training programs for Qatari IT workers and specialists such as CTO Training Program and the IT Talent Program. These two programs have to date succeeded in attracting a significant number of Qatari professionals from multiple government entities.

The new program is available for Qatari IT professionals. Each candidate needs to be nominated by their organization’s management team. Additionally, the applicant must enjoy a professional level command in English with over 6 years of experience in IT domain or relevant work, but the candidate must have spent the last two years being in a managerial IT role commanding own team.

Selected participants will go through an extensive leadership assessment to identify individual development needs. These needs are addressed at four in-person workshops revolving around digital leadership.

Selected participants will be awarded to program completion certification dependent on their attendance of the workshops along with the mandatory capstone project. They will be announced over January 2020.

Government entities are invited to nominate their candidates till this December 22 via email qdgtraining@motc.gov.qa or by calling 40452357 or 40452334.

QDGTP functions within the framework of the Qatar Digital Government 2020 Strategy that was officially launched in May 2014.

The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani launched QDGTP during the 4th edition of QITCOM in 2017.
