Minister Meets with Iran’s Roads, Urban Development Minister

Transport Minister meets Saudi counterpart

Doha – Qatar Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti met Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of Saudi Arabia H E Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser, via videoconferencing today. During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries to develop the transport and logistics sector and means of promoting them.

MOT Performs AToNs Maintenance Operations

Doha – Qatar The Ministry of Transport has performed the maintenance operations on the aids to navigation (AToNs) along the coasts and waterways in Qatar in cooperation with Mwani Qatar using the company’s advanced fleet and taking advantage of the long-standing experience of its AToNs team, which aims to provide more efficient and sustainable marine services. The number of AToNs, buoys and navigation beacons maintained or installed from the beginning of 2022 through March 31, 2023 has reached 117. AToNs are regularly inspected and maintained to ensure best performance in accordance with universal standards and specifications and to identify the safe sailing locations for enhanced safe maritime navigation factors. These efforts come in the context of MOT’s plans that aim at ensuring safe, effective traffic for all vessels on Qatari waters in such a way that protects life and property.

Minister Receives Message from S. Korean Counterpart

Doha – Qatar Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti received a written message from Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of South Korea H.E. Won Hee-ryong, on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of transportation, particularly taking advantage of modern and smart technologies in transportation industry. The message was handed over by S. Korean Ambassador to the State of Qatar H.E. Lee Joon-Ho, as he met with H.E. Minister Al-Sulaiti today.

QA Wins Minister of Transport 2nd Padel Championship

Doha – Qatar Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti on Friday crowned Qatar Airways team as champions of the second edition of the Minister of Transport Ramadan Padel Championship Cup after their outstanding performance before MOT team. The QA team won 3-0 in the final faceoff held in Padel-In Aspire Zone amid large fan attendance. QA team was in full control of the three matches. The event was attended by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, HE Mr. Akbar Al Baker, President of Ashghal and Mowasalat (Karwa) Chairman Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmad Al Muhannadi, Dir. Gen. of the Qatar Aeronautical Academy HE Sheikh Jabor Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Mwani Qatar’s CEO Capt. Abdulla Mohamed Al-Khanji, Mowasalat (Kawa) CEO Mr. Fahad Saad Al Qahtani, GCEO of QTerminals Mr. Neville Bissett, Interim PCEO at Milaha Mohammed Swidan, and several officials from the MOT and transportation industry. Minister Al-Sulaiti also appreciated the tournament sponsors: Mwani Qatar and QTerminals as Official Sponsors, and QA as Gold Sponsor. “We are so happy for a successful second edition of the Minister of Transport Ramadan Padel Championship Cup, particularly as this tournament comes in response to staff desire at entities working in the transportation sector,” said Ms. Lolan Abdelaziz Al-Jassim, Public Relations and Communication Director at MOT. “We are looking forward to organizing another professional championship next year in conjunction with Qatar Rail,” she added. This year’s championship featured 36 teams from the MOT, Qatar Rail, QCAA, QA, Mowasalat (Karwa), Mwani Qatar, QTerminals, Milaha and Qatar Aeronautical Academy.
