Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met with Minister of Equipment and Housing, in charge of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tunisia, H.E. Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, on the sidelines of the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.The two ministers discussed Qatari-Tunisian cooperation in the areas of transportation, civil aviation, and ports, and ways to develop it.

Festus Keyamo, on the sidelines of their participation in the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.The two ministers discussed aspects of Qatari-Nigerian cooperation in air transportation, and ways to enhance them, especially in the fields of training, technical upskilling and capacity building on civil aviation.

Minister Heads Qatar Delegation to Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh

The State of Qatar is participating in the Future Aviation Forum, which opened in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, today, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. The Qatari delegation is headed by Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti.The opening ceremony was attended by several transportation ministers, civil aviation authority chiefs from the participating countries, airline and airport presidents, CEOs of aircraft manufacturing companies, and renowned global investors.Themed 'Elevating Global Connectivity', the 3-day Forum attracted nearly 5000 civil aviation leaders and experts from over 120 countries, who will discuss multiple key topics, including enhancing the environmental sustainability of civil aviation industry, advanced air mobility, elevating global connectivity, and meeting the industry’s most critical challenges.

Ministry to Test Air Taxi, Electric Delivery Planes Early 2025

The Ministry of Transport announces it has put plans to test the services of the electric air taxi and electric delivery planes in the early 2025, as the Ministry continues implementing its strategies that aim for developing and operating an integrated mobility ecosystem in Qatar.The Ministry has applied for all the necessary approvals and coordination matters with the Qatari bodies concerned, to go ahead with such test runs.This step will contribute to supporting the performance of Qatar’s transportation sector by introducing the new concept of air mobility, which uses latest global technologies and artificial intelligence (A.I.), thereby enhancing the public transit system’s integration, coherence, sustainability, and eco-friendliness. For the Ministry, achieving the goals of the Third Qatar National Development Strategy (NDS3) is also front and center. NDS3 focuses on benefiting from advanced technologies, and achieving sustainable development and economic diversification, let alone boosting Qatar’s leading global position on the transportation map, leading to achieving the pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

MOT’s “Qatar Access Management Guidelines” 2nd Workshop Concludes

The Ministry of Transport today held a second stakeholder workshop on the Qatar Access Management Guidelines (QAMG) project. The workshop was attended by representatives of several government entities and agencies, consultancy firms and strategic partners.The workshop featured an overview of the QAMG, its components, and latest updates on the work completed to date, including the QAMG’s standards, policies, regulations, and permitting procedures.Stakeholders in attendance have shared valuable feedback and views, which will help enhance the objectives of the QAMG; higher traffic safety, easier and safer access, and mobility for users of means of transportation on local roads, highways, and expressways, and between the public roadway system and adjacent land development projects, including redevelopment.The primary objective of the QAMG project is to update the current access management chapter of the Qatar Highway Design Manual (QHDM 2020). It also aims at providing direction to local government entities, consultants, developers, and planners with relation to access management in the future in a way that meets regional and international best practices. The project also aims at providing uniformity related to the management of both permanent and temporary access within the State of Qatar and promoting traffic safety at access locations across the country.The MOT believes the cooperation and support from the stakeholders and strategic partners at the workshop is definitely contributing to achieving the objectives and goals of the project.
