Mada (Qatar Assistive Technology Center) - established by ictQATAR - is hosting another e-Accessibility Majlis: a series of events that brings together web designers, digital content managers and users to discuss latest trends and best practices in the field of e-accessibility.

By raising awareness about accessible design and usability, an increasing number of digital platforms, including websites and apps, alongside digital TV & Radio broadcasts, are being designed with users of different needs and abilities in mind.

Users with disabilities, designers and content managers will come together for an interactive and informative night to learn about building accessible broadcast platforms as well as accessible social media and how it is a way of thinking which is growing in Qatar and throughout the region.

The session will feature a special guest appearance from Alex Varley, CEO of Media Access Australia, an independent non-profit organization which focuses on access to media and information for people with disabilities.

An interactive discussion will held on the following topics:

• Creating Accessible Broadcast Platforms for people with disabilities.
• How to make TV broadcasts accessible for the deaf?
• How can blind members from our community enjoy films?
• How can we ensure that social media remains accessible to all?

The venue is wheelchair accessible, with plenty of parking available. Light refreshments will be served.
